What is in the tube
Rendered from the suet of pasture-raised cattle. Its fatty acid profile is unusually close to the oil your own skin makes, which is why it sinks in instead of sitting on top. It carries the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K along with it.
The other half of the job. Beeswax gives the tube its structure so it twists up clean, and forms a breathable barrier that holds the tallow where you put it instead of letting it wick away in wind and cold.

Our story
It is the Polish spelling, and it is pronounced the same way. The balm started in a kitchen in New Jersey with a cracked lip, a pot of rendered tallow, and a drugstore stick that had stopped working sometime around November.

Really. Tallow was the base of skin care for most of human history and only got replaced when petroleum turned out to be cheaper. Its fat profile is close to what your own skin produces, which is the whole reason it absorbs instead of just coating.
No. Properly rendered and filtered tallow is close to odorless. If a tallow product smells like a kitchen, it was rendered badly.
Flavor oils make you lick your lips, which dries them out, so a flavored stick quietly sells you the problem along with the cure. Two ingredients, nothing added. That is the point.
It will soften above roughly 85°F, the same as any beeswax balm. Stand it upright and let it firm back up. Nothing about it is ruined.
